Information about our use of cookies:
When you visit or interact with our websites, services, e-mails, messaging, or any other online service, we or our authorized service providers may use cookies, web beacons, software development kits, and other similar technologies, for storing information to help provide a better and safer experience. In this Notice, we use the term “cookies” to refer to all the technologies as noted above.
This Notice applies to any Midea America Corp. website or service that links to it or incorporates it by reference. For personal information collected through the use of cookies and similar technologies, our Privacy Policy also applies and complements this Notice.
This Notice is designed to help you understand more about these technologies and our use of them on our sites and in our services, applications, and tools. Below is a summary of a few key things you should know about our use of such technologies.
You can manage your consent preferences at any time to accept or reject the use of various categories of cookies through the Cookie Consent Manager, except for strictly necessary cookies, which are necessary for basic operation of the website. If your browser sends an enabled Global Privacy Control (GPC) signal, we automatically reject non-essential cookies as described below.
What are cookies and similar technologies?
Cookies are small data files that websites ask your browser to store on your device, such as your computer or a phone, to remember information about you, your preferences such as preferred language, your device information and other information, so that you do not have to make the same selections when you return to the website again. Similar technologies that also fall under the generic term “cookies” could include objects, web beacons, pixels, or any technology that stores and accesses information on the user’s device. This information does not usually allow us to identify you, but it does allow us to offer a better experience when visiting our websites.
What cookies do we use?
The types of cookies we use are listed below. Some cookies are necessary for the function of the website and some are optional, such as functional cookies and analytics cookies. This means that you have a choice about what cookies we place when you visit our website.
We use first-party and third-party cookies. First-party cookies are cookies that are set by the website that you are visiting. Cookies that are placed from a different domain are called third-party cookies and are placed by someone other than us. An example of a third-party cookie could be if we embed a YouTube video or attach content that exists on a different website.
Our website utilizes session cookies, which are deleted once you close your Internet browser, and persistent cookies, which stay on your browser for a longer period. An example of a persistent cookie is the browser remembering your preferred language or temperature unit.
List of cookies
Strictly necessary cookies
Strictly necessary cookies are necessary for our online services to operate and are always enabled. The information collected relates to the operation of our website (e.g. website scripting language and security tokens) and enables us to provide you with the service you have requested. You can set your browser to block or alert you about these cookies, but some parts of the site will not then work. These cookies do not store any personal data. These cookies are: used solely for the purpose of carrying out or facilitating the transmission of a communication over an electronic communications network; and strictly necessary to provide you with the information you have expressly requested (i.e. if these cookies are disabled, we will not be able to provide you with the service you have expressly requested). The use of these cookies for the purposes described above is based on our legitimate interest to ensure the proper technical functioning of our website, and access to and use of our website and to provide you with the service(s) you have expressly requested.
Functional cookies
These cookies are optional and are used to remember the choices you have made, for example the country you visit our website from, your language and any changes you have made to text size and other parts of the web pages that you can customize to improve your user experience and to make your visits more tailored and enjoyable. If you do not allow these cookies, then some or all of these services may not function properly.
Analytics cookies
These cookies are optional and are used to collect information on how visitors use our website, for example which pages they visit most often, whether they receive any error messages, how they arrived at our website, and what they click on. Information collected by these cookies is used only to improve the use of our website. These cookies are sometimes placed by third-party providers of web traffic and analysis services. All information these cookies collect is aggregated and therefore anonymous. If you do not allow these cookies we will not know when people have visited our website and will not be able to monitor its performance.
Please refer to any third party’s privacy policy for information on what data they collect and how they use it.
Global Privacy Control (GPC)
Global Privacy Control (GPC) is a browser or extension setting that sends an opt-out preference signal to websites. When we detect that GPC is enabled in your browser, we treat it as a request to opt out of non-essential cookies covered by this Notice, including optional functional cookies and analytics cookies (such as Google Analytics).
In that case, our website will:
- Automatically store your preference to reject non-essential cookies;
- Keep strictly necessary cookies enabled so the site can function;
- Show a notice in the Cookie Consent Manager stating that GPC is active; and
- Not load Google Analytics while GPC remains enabled.
You may open the Cookie Consent Manager at any time using Cookie Settings in the site footer to review or change your preferences. While GPC is active, optional cookies cannot be turned on (including through “Accept all cookies”) until you disable GPC in your browser or privacy tool and update your choices in the Cookie Consent Manager. For more information about how we handle personal information and opt-out signals, see Section 7 of our Privacy Policy. Our GPC policy file is available at /.well-known/gpc.json.
Changes to our Cookie Notice
If we change anything important about this Cookie Notice, we will notify you through a pop-up on the website for a reasonable length of time prior to and following the change, or another appropriate method. When we make changes to this notice, we will amend the revision date at the top of the page. You may always review the Cookie Notice by visiting the website and clicking on the “Cookie Notice” link.
