Midea's ceiling-mounted Pancake Air Handling Unit (AHU) brings inverter-driven heat pump technology into a compact, low-profile format engineered for in-ceiling installation. Unlike conventional fixed-speed ceiling-mounted units, the Midea Pancake AHU uses Enhanced Vapor Injection (EVI) technology and variable-speed inverter control to deliver consistent performance across a wide range of outdoor temperatures — including cold climates where fixed-speed systems typically underperform.
Available in four capacities — 18,000, 24,000, 30,000, and 36,000 BTU/h — the Pancake AHU is designed for multifamily residential projects, retrofit applications, and installations where ceiling cavities are the preferred HVAC pathway and floor or wall space is limited.

The Pancake AHU pairs with Midea EVOX inverter-driven outdoor units, including the EVOX G3, creating a fully inverter-matched system. Auxiliary heat integration provides backup capacity for extreme weather scenarios.
